standing up
i may be pretty drunk and may regret a comment i posted on my roommates bulletin but fuck her. tonight was my very first perfomance doing stand up comedy. personally, i think i sucked. then again, i think that of every performance i’ve done for 12 years now. i got some laughs but was sad when my biggest laughs came from fucking with some old drunk dude trying to be a heckler. he was a dick and i put him in his place. for my first time doing stand up though, i did better than half the performers tonight and had a good gig.
what really got to me though tonight was reading a myspace bulletin from my roommate. she went on to complain that she hates her “fake ass friends” who used her for “her niceness.” what did me in that is she says “she loves me,” and yet refused to come to my first show which was important to me. what was it that was more important? getting high in the living room. the same FUCKING thing they do EVERY night. she wants to complain about “fake ass friends?” how about some fucking roommates that claim to be your friends but think that a fucking blunt is more important than supporting a real friend. OF FUCKING COURSE your “friends” think that weed is more important because they are DRUG ADDICTS! your REAL friend here just put himself up on a fucking stage and you wouldn’t DREAM of wasting three dollars in gas to come support him. at least MATT took two different trains to come and see me do a ten minute set.
i fucking hope jake and jenn die. i have given them both MORE than their fair share of advice and a shoulder to cry on. but when i finally go and pursue a dream i’ve had for years they thought it was more important to smoke some weed. they didn’t come to any of my jazz shows, they couldn’t come to my first comedy show. fuck them. i was born for the stage. i’ve been on stage more than ten times a year since i was 9 years old and if they want to still and claim they are my friends than they can be burned alive from a curling iron fire.
i may not have a whole lot in life but i have my performances. im glad their stoner friends flaked on them. maybe it will teach them a lesson about real friendship.
